Ah yes, another post title with reference to “way-back” music, fun!
Earlier this year I found myself having to unexpectedly stay an extra night in Chicago; as my flight back to Cleveland was cancelled. Not wasting anytime I quickly planned activities for the next day, top of the list was the Art Institute of Chicago; it was in one of their gift shops that I picked up my square necklace. Handcrafted by a gifted artisan it features both oxidized and polished sterling silver, love at first sight; and this ‘hip gal’ just had to have it.
This may be hard to believe but I didn’t realize the watch I selected for the day was also square; clear evidence that I need a full cup of coffee before my brain starts to function. It was a lovely coincidence once I arrived on location for my shoot and realized, again, the locale was filled with repeating squares and rectangles, brilliant! I can tell you my sunnies, shoes and ring were 100% planned in advance; I’m not one to leave that much to chance!
The weather here is starting its seasonal temperature swings and, from one day to the next, can range 30 degrees with nights exhibiting more of the same. I find myself, more often than not, taking full advantage of layering to help manage the extremes I can face traveling from indoors to outside and again from day to night.
Do you have any structured pieces that you play-up with matching accessories? Sometimes it’s fun taking a theme to extreme repetition; like they say, and I honestly don’t know who ‘they’ are,…go big or go home!
Thank you for stopping by, Cheers! ~ Penny
