All hands on deck; my mantra when visiting any type of open air market.  I’ve got to have my hands free at all times to browse, evaluate and purchase any treasure I simply cannot live without.  These pictures were taken just before spending a lovely afternoon at The Cleveland Flea; if you’ve never been try and make a point to check it out.  There are so many wonderful local eateries, artists and shops peddling their goods just waiting for you to discover something new.

My Cole Haan handbag is quickly becoming a staple for these types of outings.  It’s just the right length to wear as a cross-body bag, big enough to hold a bottle of water and features an outside pocket to hold my money and any tiny treasures I happen upon.  The color, too, will go with anything.

My polka dot shoes are my favorite purchase so far this year and every time I need a flat shoe they find their way on my feet.  The dots add a fun element and their basic color goes with everything.  If you’re leery about mixing patterns try wearing them apart from each other, this is a great way to try something new; keeping your patterns in the same color scheme will help ease the feeling of clashing as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Cheers – Penny

Seersucker

Nothing screams summer like an article of seersucker clothing!  The puckering texture of the fabric keeps it loose on your skin so that air is constantly circulating, a certain must in the heat of summer.  The other bonus of this unique weave of cotton?  No ironing needed!  Lets be honest, who wants to iron in 90 degree weather?

Seersucker can go from office, to evening, to errands with ease.  For a super classic look I could have kept it clean with a crisp white tank or tee but decided to pair it, this day, with a floral top having the same tone of blue as the stripe.  Don’t be afraid to try mixing a floral print with stripes; what helps to pull the combo together is a common hue.

This shoot was taken near the beautiful reflecting pond in front of the Cleveland Museum of Art; a must see if you’ve never been.  There are trees around the pond to provide shade, benches to lounge on and just the beauty of the surroundings to take in.

Here’s hoping things cool off a bit and I can find a shaded patio to enjoy this weekend.

Cheers to summer style!
